Lukewarm Christian

There are those who are sold out for the Lord all the way.  There are some who waffle between being strong in the Lord and backsliding.  And then there are those who are just lukewarm about their faith.  Being lukewarm means to be a person whose attitude is unenthusiastic.  There is knowledge and a respect of who God is, but no effort is being made to build a stronger relationship with God, nor is there a desire to get right with Him.  

To be lukewarm is to settle on the fact that there is a God.  With a lukewarm attitude your actions show you have no zeal for God or for the things of God. John 2:17, says Zeal for the things of God will consume you." The disciples where remembering when Jesus ran the money changers out of the church. Jesus that day had a passion to make sure what God holds sacred is kept sacred.  As I'm doing my study I actually found where a writer called being lukewarm or halfheartedly seeking God, hypocritical. 

Knowing the word is good for strengthening you as you prepare to journey through this life, but using your judgment in discerning which scripture will give you victory when faced with problems in your walk is how you build on your faith, how you seek out who and what to pray for others who are in need, how you set the example for righteous living and how you build a relationship with God.

God is calling us to be people of action. We need to put our faith to work. Gone are the days of sitting back and just believing in God.  With so much pain, hurt, violence, racism, hardships and corruption in the world, we need to be people who eagerly want to be the light for a dying world who desperately need the living savior. God needs us to get inspired, to get fired up and willing and ready to role up our sleeves to win souls for Christ. 

I got a will to serve the Lord, armed with the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17) and I'm ready to battle.  I'm not waging on against man.  Ephesians 6:12 NIV, says For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  

Mark 4:19, says but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. To battle against the things that hinder us from walking closely with God, 1 John 2:16, says it’s the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world to keeps us from serving God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

Compromise

Pray that you will not compromise yourself, so you won't be tempted. It's in the Bible, Matthew 26:41, TLB. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Don't even start down an evil path. It's in the Bible, Proverbs 4:14-15, TLB. "Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way."

Don't let sinners influence you. It's in the Bible, Proverbs 1:10, TLB. "My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them."

The man who walks righteously does not compromise. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 33:15-16, TLB. "He who walks righteously and speaks what is right, who rejects gain from extortion and keeps his hand from accepting bribes, who stops his ears against plots of murder and shuts his eyes against contemplating evil—this is the man who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. His bread will be supplied, and water will not fail him."

A Daily Prophetic Word

#‎AGodlyWord‬ Working with the Holy Spirit I certainly remember lots of times in my life when people asked me why I was being so harsh. I didn't realize that I was. I just had a lot going on and felt pressured, so the pressure came through in harsh voice tones. That didn't excuse my bad behavior, but it was the root of the problem. I am very thankful I know the Word of God and have Him in my life to help and comfort me. But a lot of difficult people don't have that. I have had to work very hard with the Holy Spirit for the ability to act on God's Word when people are rude…instead of merely reacting with a behavior that matches or tops theirs. Jesus teaches us how to respond to those who treat us well and those who do not (see Luke 6:32–35). If you are in a situation that requires you to be with one of these hard-to-get-along-with people every day, I urge you to pray for them instead of reacting emotionally to them. Our prayers open a door for God to work through.
